Celebrity Series of Boston presents Guy Mendilow & Friends in An Evening of Musical Tales.

The stories in this performance share three elements.
They were all created during the pandemic.
They all explore questions that were heightened by the pandemic. Questions about what resilience is made of, what it looks like, not in Hollywood but in a real-life messy day-to-day.
And they all look to moments of history to puzzle these questions out, and often to true stories, from a tale of my grandfathers’ escape from a Hungarian Arrow Cross work camp in 1943 (to make his own wedding) to the dilemma of families in the former Ottoman Empire looking at the threats of war and wondering whether to stay or go.

Two Sand Story Premieres
The performance includes the premiere of two newly completed sand stories, brought to life with the sand wizardry of Kseniya Simonova and the adept editing/theatrical projections design of Seághan McKay.
