Watch This Beautiful New Sand Animation
We are delighted to announce the release of the newest sand story from The Forgotten Kingdom.
It has been meaningful to work on this, especially in light of recent events.
I hope that you will find it beautiful.

How does this scene work in live performance?
What you see here as a single continuous video is actually cut up into 32 clips in the live stage production, thanks to the work of theatrical projections designer Seághan McKay (Boston Ballet; Mikko Nissinen, Rosetta Cucchi, Crystal Manich; 2017/18 IRNE Best Projection Design Award). Each segment is triggered by the projections operator, once a particular moment in the musical score or script is reached. The segment plays and then holds, until the next cue. Each new segment picks up at the exact frame as the segment preceding it, to create the illusion of a single, smoothly flowing video, similar to this one. This theatrical projections treatment enables GME to "breathe" onstage, changing pacing and delivery of each performance while staying in synch with the projected animation.
